Biryani dishes are very famous amongst ceremonial and festive occasions in India, Pakistan and the sub continent. The meat or fish is delicately spiced and roasted in ghee. With finely chopped onions, cloves cardamom pods etc. They are mixed with basmati rice and fried. Usually decorated with fresh tomato, cucumber and sprinkled coconut flakes, served with vegetable sauce.
